Faithful and United

The Beginning of a Movement

Aaron Enrriques (Robstown High School Class of 2006) was involved during his high school student tenure in the Robstown High School Varsity Baseball Team as helper and student statistician for the baseball team. He enjoyed working and meeting with great people involved in the organization throughout his time there. He also enjoyed working with the legendary late Coach Steve Castro, whom the baseball field is now named after. He enjoyed the baseball game and enjoyed the success of its players and the baseball team.

Wanting to continue helping and sharing his love for the baseball game, Aaron assumed ownership of the Robstown High School Cottonpicker Baseball Facebook Page in 2011 with only 215 Facebook page likes at the time. Aaron wanted to remain involved in Robstown High School Varsity Baseball and began live streaming select Varsity baseball games through Facebook Live. He quickly gained popularity and began to appreciate that Robstown High School Cottonpicker alumni were everywhere throughout the country and around the world. Broadcasting the games live allowed Robstown alumni and fans to see the baseball games of their beloved high school and reconnect with people they have met or went to school with.

As time progressed and popularity rose, Aaron asked for the help from his brother (Albert Enrriques, Jr, also a Robstown graduate, Class of 1998) who eventually developed the brand Go Red Sport and GoRedSport.com website to help his effort as well as much needed assistance on Facebook Live streams. The comments on the screen during the live streams from the Facebook page is him typing and keeping people engaged in the live stream game as well as score updates for those who join in the live stream throughout the game.

Aaron and Albert make it a point to ensure that all livestreams are free from bad behavior and bad language. It is definitely a labor of love to those who cannot make it to the varsity baseball games and want to stay connected to their beloved baseball team and high school.

The community has become inspired about Aaron’s love for the game, its players, its coaching staff, and the people of the City of Robstown.

On June 20, 2022, the City of Robstown honored his commitment to the community and to Robstown Baseball fans around the world with the Key to the City. The Key to the City is a high honor no matter how large or small a community may be. It is not given to just anyone and it is not given on a whim. It is a symbol of honor and thanks from a grateful community to bring people together, even those who may no longer live near Robstown today. Aaron is forever grateful to the City of Robstown, which has a long history of overcoming obstacles, remaining dedicated, and appreciating people’s hard work. As Aaron quoted his and his brother’s grandfather: “The Baseball team is a great thing in this town, it seems to be the magnet that attracts people together, whether the team is good or not the support is always there.”

So, it is no surprise that the unofficial slogan of Robstown and Robstown High School is:

“First You Must Believe”
